Daviot Lodge Covid-19 Measures
***UPDATED 21st April 2021***
Daviot Lodge will reopen on Tuesday 27th April 2021 when we will look forward to welcoming guests, those of you who are already friends and those yet to meet. You are all very welcome.
We have had to make a number of changes to how we do things so that we comply with the guidelines set out by the Scottish Government but hope we will manage to achieve this without the spirit of the Daviot Lodge experience being diminished.
To start with, so that we can continue to serve breakfast in our dining room we have spaced our tables to allow for regulated distancing. Occasionally it may be necessary to set up one table for two in our library.
When you arrive at Daviot Lodge you will be asked to use the hand sanitiser which is available throughout the house. Please use this regularly and thoroughly and in particular it must be used prior to entering the dining room.
We will attempt to capture all the relevant details we require from you prior to your arrival so that there is minimum contact around the reception desk. You will understand that should we be contacted by the Scottish Government Track, Trace and Isolate Team it will be necessary for us to provide your names and telephone numbers. No other details will be asked for.
Our public rooms are still available – please just space yourselves out using the hall, the sitting room and library. We are sorry we have had to remove our DVD library but books and puzzles will still be available. All we ask is that you leave these in the reception area so that we can clean them before they go back into circulation.
The Roses chocolates will still be there for you – please enjoy them.
The toilets on the ground floor will not be available meantime. This is because we cannot guarantee being able to clean and disinfect them after every use.
Moving upstairs you will find additional tea facilities on the landing along with fresh milk in the mini fridge. Please be sure to use the hand sanitiser each time you use this area.
In the bedrooms it has been necessary to remove the binoculars. We are sad not to be able to provide our much-loved turn down service when we usually draw your curtains, refresh your tea tray and light your lamps and candles. We have been advised to cut down on unnecessary entrance/exit to guest rooms but hope to reintroduce this popular aspect of our service as soon as we can.
Housekeeping staff will continue to service your room daily unless you specifically request us not to enter. If you do not wish your room serviced, we will of course provide any necessary items that need to be replenished including towels and refreshments - please ask.
As described above there have had to be some changes in the dining room so that we can still serve you breakfast which we know is an important part of the Daviot Lodge experience. When you arrive down in the morning, please take a seat at the table with your room name on it. This will be your table for the duration of your stay. The buffet will still be available but in a slightly different form - Alex will guide you through. We request that there only be one person at the buffet table at a time.
The current social distancing guidelines should be followed wherever possible.
Throughout the house there will be an enhanced cleaning schedule including all touchpoints, switches, television remotes, kettles, bannisters etc. These will be regularly disinfected with a product tested to BS EN 14476 Standard.
On checkout day it would be appreciated if you could vacate by 10.30 a.m. latest. The housekeeping team will be very grateful as the extra measures of disinfecting following our already rigid cleaning regime does take extra time.
Finally, in line with Scottish Government recommendations, please open your bedroom windows as you depart so that the room can be aired before we commence cleaning.
Thank you for your kind consideration. As the Coronavirus outbreak comes under control, certain measures may be reduced, amended or eliminated.
We do hope you will not find these requests onerous. If you have any concerns at all about ANYTHING please do not hesitate to discuss with Margaret or Alex.
